edit introduction
Harriet Tubman said; “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Based on this saying, I have always been a great dreamer.  Dreaming big and setting goals were encouraged in my family.

At a tender age of 5 my mother migrated to Canada in search of a better life for my sister and I. Growing up on the beautiful island of St. Lucia, I spent many days wondering if my mother would ever make arrangements for me to join her in Canada.  Or why my father didn’t want to be part of my life.  All my thoughts at this tender came rushing in; I felt my first responsibility was to make my grandmother proud of me.

My dreams of becoming an actor came when I watched my grandmother act in a local group called Che Campeche group that was well known around the Island of St. Lucia. My grandmother was my role model therefore I knew acting was a career I wanted to pursue.  My dream was to one day perform with Che Campeche, but before I could get a chance, I joined my mother in Canada.
This was now a new country with new possibilities, new opportunities and new dreams. I felt like Canada did not give me the opportunity to dream, but I quickly realized that it was because of the cultural difference. I had to assimilate into a new culture, therefore I felt like my dream to become and actor was now no more.

Taking part in various dramatizations in High School and in church, I have found that I was able to free my mind and my heart. It helped me to grow as a person and, through acting and character work; I have been able to understand emotions and states of mind more clearly. My personal artistic goal is for my emotions to be felt by my audience, therefore making them be part of my art.

It has been my future dream and goal to perform.  To be part of this unique opportunity would further enhance my dreams of becoming an actor and  bringing joy to the lives of those I encounter.   I look forward to the challenges and rewards that lie ahead.  At the end of it all I want to connect in a way that people will forget about everything else in their lives, pause and experience whatever form of art I presented to them.
